Redefine Your Fitness Journey

Truth of the matter is that we didn’t choose the FITNESS industry, it really chose us. Growing up in this community and playing high school and college sports, we’ve always had a competitive drive within us. However, it wasn’t our vision to be gym owners until the opportunity presented itself. In the Fall of 2012, I was training for a ‘bucket list’ Marathon. I found myself with a hip fracture preventing me from continuing the training. I could ride a bike but needed to take a break from running. I discovered our local gym, ‘Family Fitness’ at the time, where I was able to continue activity by means of a stationary bike. A few months after joining this gym, we had a conversation with the previous owner. He was interested in selling, and after a few conversations, we made a deal.

When we became owners, we were located inside a small space next to Hays Market. We realized that in order to grow our business, we would need more space; however, we didn’t have justifiable means to increase our overhead to pay an increased amount of rent. It was, until one day in March only 1 month after our purchase, the owners of a Physical Therapy business came into our facility to introduce themselves. They explained they were looking to partner with an established business. We worked out an arrangement where they subleased a space from us, and we were partners in the industry of Fitness and Physical Therapy. It worked well. That allowed us to move to a location that offered more square footage. Shortly after this move, we invited a conversation to take place between us and a dry-cleaning company in town. Our request was to occupy their current space to expand our business to offer group fitness classes. We worked out the arrangement of partnership where we serve the dry-cleaning customers for drop off and pick up on a daily basis. The customer drops their items off to be cleaned, the dry-cleaning company picks them up, does the work and returns them timely for our customer to pick up from our same location upon completion. We have always had interest in Real Estate and our current location offered us the opportunity for ownership of the building.

It is no secret that our entire industry was hit incredibly hard. Many industries were hit incredibly hard. For us, the timing of the pandemic was a perfect storm. We were prepared for the YMCA to open in our community. We were not prepared to first be shut down for 10 weeks and the prices of the YMCA to be cut in half. During that 10-week period, society figured out what to do for fitness WITHOUT a gym. We all had to figure out what to do without a gym. People had made the transition away from us during that time. Both businesses opened simultaneously when given permission. The dynamics of those details made a significant impact in our business. We are rebuilding and are so very grateful to our members and to our community that does continue to support our business. We are a family inside our building. Our employees and our members are family. It just feels good being inside.

We are open 24 hours for Fitness, offering Group Fitness, Personal Training, Free Weights, Cardio Equipment, Strength Machines, Silver Sneakers, Renew Active and so much more! We are also a Tanning Salon, offering high end UV Tanning. You do not need to be a fitness member to tan at our salon. We have a Massage Therapist on site as well as a waxing studio, additionally offering eyelash extensions. We take pride in a clean and welcoming environment and would love to meet you! We are always expanding our vision and are excited to add new entrepreneurship titles next to our names. The sky is the limit and we do know that this isn’t the only thing for us. We have BIG DREAMS and are excited to expand our possibilities!
